Craving Indian food during your time in Siem Reap? Today in this post I will be reviewing the restaurant Vanakkam India, which is located near Pub street in Siem Reap.
I just came across this place while I was passing Pub street and looking for something filling to eat on a Sunday, and noticed a Khmer woman wearing an interesting Indian attire in front of this place right across the providential hospital. The owner is from the town of Kerala and the food is Southern Indian food, for those are looking for specifically certain types of Indian food.
My girlfriend and I were seated quickly and ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala as well as the Aloo Gobi and three plain naans to share amongst the two of us. The food also came quickly and we were delighted at the portions, which was larger than some of the other Indian restaurants that we had tried out around Siem Reap. The Chicken Tikka Masala was delicious and we also really enjoyed the potatoes and the cauliflowers in the Aloo Gobi.
Overall I was pleased with my meal which I felt was reasonable for the deliciousness of the food, however the single con about this place was the fact that there Samosas were a bit expensive for me to order, although I usually tend to get them at Indian restaurants as appetizers.
We assumed that a large part of why there was no other customers there at the time was due to the fact that there is construction going on right in front of the restaurant on the road *we went late may of 2019, however a couple more parties came through as we were eating as this location seemed to have a good number of Tripadvisor reviews online compared to the other Indian restaurants around Siem Reap.
